Ninja 400 - M4 Carbon Slip-On Exhaust
Previewing the M4 carbon slip-on exhaust on my 2018 Ninja 400.
Installation took me about 30 minutes and it sounds great!

Hi everyone, When shopping for these exhausts I could not find a good video comparison using high quality microphones. I then decided to make my own using my Rode Mic's that provided a standardised approach to audio comparisons. My car is a 2013 Toyota 86. The entire exhaust is stock except for the cat-backs. It looks like lcd cable issue. You have to replace the cable that connects the lcd to the motherboard
is r400 louder than q300 like the other cars or just the same for 86/BRZ?

Great video! Best example of exhaust note comparisons. The R400 sounds the best.
You know what would make this even better? Putting a Decibel meter so you can see the delta in noise level.

Hi, I live in Sydney and have a 2021 SUBARU BRZ tS. I am trying to decide between the Q300 and R400 to put on my BRZ. Are they both legal? I do not want constant trouble with the cops. I'm not talking about revving hard all the time and driving like a hoon.... Just normal safe every day driving, following speed limits etc.... Will either of these exhausts cause the cops to constantly pull you over and give you a notice to go get the car tested?
if you end up getting the q300 double check the size, i ended up getting the 3 inch thats exclusive to australia and its almost as loud as an n2 with catless uel

Have the invidia q300 and I still feel like stock sounds the best in cabin. Q300 sounds kind of hollow bassy but drone free in cabin. Stock you hear the motor really well in cabin
Anyone know how loud an R400 is with a subwoofer? Have a subby and want an R400 but don't want to drown it out.

The best set is TOMEI UEL CATLESS HEADER , TOMEI JOINT PIPE (DP), INVIDIA RESONATED FRONT PIPE AND INVIDIA N1 CATBACK. If you want it more louder use INVIDIA CATLESS FRONT PIPE.

Yeah the R400 sounds like a ricer Golf or Civic, and the Q300 is smoother and sounds beautiful... I decided to get a Q300 too :D.. Here are my future specs: - JDL Turbo Kit - Delicious Flex fuels System - Exhaust? Catted Header = better for emissions... - Unequal length header... - Invidia Q300 Wheels? Still deciding :D

Definitely the r400 is deeper
You will not notice the Q300 when you are the driver, but if you are a bystander you can definitely notice it. My issue was that I could never hear it, hence why I bought the R400. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the video. Currently have the R400 fitted but will try the Q300 after a couple of weeks and then decide which one I like best. I really like the fact that even with the R400, I can still hear the supercharger spin up! So really loving it! :)

@@DJHeroMasta I have a video taken from inside the car by a mate with window down that sounds awesome with the R400 and Sprintex supercharger (well.... I think so! 😎). The thing is, I have no idea how or where I'd post it! The thing about the R400 is that it is a pretty deep sound and if you're chugging along at low revs and don't bother to downshift (which is something you can get away with due to extra torque of SC), you get some pretty serious deep vibrations happening. Which then makes you downshift. Might not happen with the Q300. Don't know... Anyways.... Personally though I wouldn't change just because of that! I park at work in a basement car park and the sound in there is epic. Often the reason I go the work even though I could easily work from home! Ha ha. Fact! 😎

Thinking of getting the Q300, can anyone help me by telling me their experience with it? Is it loud when you want it to be (driving hard) can you hear it well in the cabin? Does it drone? Is there a break in period where it’s super quiet? Thanks !

Definitely go with the R or Q if you want to do headers. N1/N2 is obnoxiously loud with headers.
even if you still have new UEL headers with cats will it still be obnoxiously loud?

Hey great video , thinking of getting the 400 but this is the second video I’ve seen where the passenger side tip was sitting higher. Is that fixable?
There are adjustable hangers (4 for $40 I think) that would fix the issue
Yeah, most likely just during installation the hangers were a little bit askew on the car, they’re these rubber things that can rotate so just wiggle it around and centre everything before bolting everything down rly tight and you’ll be good
